The Anuvrat Ahimsa Award 2013 for International Peace was felicitated by his Holiness Acharya Mahasharman to Mr. Rajagopal P.V. on July 13, 2014. Rajagopal in his acceptance speech acknowledged that his life work was with the social organization, Ekta Parishad, and that nonviolence was an effective tool against poverty and injustice especially when carried out with the participation of the poor and downtrodden.
This annual prize is given by the Jain community to those outstanding persons dedicated to nonviolence. In 2011 it was given to noted personality Thomas Clough Daffern who runs the London Institute for Peace Studies and in 2010 renowned Gandhian, S.N. Subba Rao.
The Anuvrat Global Organization’s chairperson T.K.Jain organized a national level discussion on peace and religious understanding and cooperation before-hand that brought together Jewish, Christian, Moslem Buddhist and the award winner, a follower of Gandhian principles. T.K. Jain noted that Acharya Tulsi launched the Anuvrat Movement in 1949 as a way to inspire inter-communal harmony and it still continues today.
