Sheopur, a habitat of primitive tribe Saharia, is situated in Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh. Now a day, deprived community is facing the problem of water scarcity, lack of sanitation facilities, land grabbing, and non access of social welfare schemes and non implementation of forest rights. As a result natural resources are alienating from their control and ownership. During a youth camp organized in June, It was decided to train young male and female from deprived community to control and combat this situation, that young people would be able to take non violent action.
State coordinator of Right to Water Campaign Mr. Anil Kumar Gupta told that Ekta Parishad and Jaladhikar Abhiyan is going to organize a youth camp in Sheopur to train young generation of deprived community Saharia for non violent action against injustice, repression and exploitation in Sheopur from July 25-28, 2014 at the campus of Mahatma Gandhi Seva Ashram, Pali road.
About 200 young male and female from Saharia community will participate in this youth leadership camp across the district. President and working president of Ekta Parishad respectively Mr. Rajagopal P.V and Dr. Ran Singh Parmar will be trainer in this leadership camp. Entire training program will focus on the status of marginalized community, root cause of marginalization, role of youths in present challenges, formation of community based organization and changing the environment through non-violent action.
