The villagers of Kathapura stand up for their rights. Supported by Ekta Parishad, they bring their case to the High Court.
Kathpura is a small village near Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The village in the heart of India is struggling for its rights. About 70 families used to live in the forest. Six years ago, officials showed up and forced the villagers to leave their land - although the villagers have land titles, which allow them to live in the forest.
The Forest Departement proclaimed that they used the land illegally. Officers burned down their homes and fields. The inhabitants were forced out of the forest. Now, the villagers stand up and bring their case to the High Court. In our video report you can see how Ekta Parishad supports the people of Kathpura in their struggle.
